Louise Boughton Drawing

Louise Boughton is an artist and educator based in Dublin, Ireland, where she blends a love of drawing with a passion for storytelling through fashion. After graduating from the National College of Art and Design, she began her creative journey in the fashion industry, developing fabrics and embellishments for designer collections and creating her own line of accessories for retail.

Illustration sits at the heart of Louise’s practice and is how she explores ideas, expresses movement, and captures the way clothing comes to life on the body. She is particularly drawn to the energy of live drawing where the essence, character, and narrative of a look can be distilled as it unfolds. This has included sketching backstage and front row, most notably at London Fashion Week, where she illustrates each season.

Her live event work spans personalising products and engaging guests at brand activations, as well as creating bespoke illustrations for a wide range of clients, including Delvaux, Brown Thomas, Pandora, Alo, and Fashion Scout.

Louise’s fashion illustrations are recognised for their expressive line, sensitivity to drape and texture, and confident use of colour. While she enjoys working with traditional materials, she is always exploring new ways to make a mark, experimenting with stitch, papercutting, and monoprinting to add tactile and visual depth.

Keeping a sketchbook is a daily ritual for Louise. Whether capturing interesting characters in a café or the quietness of a landscape, drawing on location keeps Louise curious and creatively inspired.

A member of FIDA, AOI, and VAI, Louise’s work has been exhibited in Ireland and internationally and featured in a range of press publications. Alongside her studio practice, she teaches at Ballyfermot Southwest Campus, where she enjoys supporting students as they develop their own creative voices.

She welcomes opportunities to collaborate and would love to bring projects and events to life through illustration. For more details, see the LIve Events page
