Louise Boughton is an artist and educator living in Dublin, Ireland. After graduating from The National College of Art and Design, she worked in the fashion industry developing fabric and embellishment for designer collections and producing her own accessories for retail. Illustration has always been an integral part of Louise’s practice to explore concepts and to document the display of clothing on the body. Using a variety of different methods, she particularly enjoys drawing live to capture the narrative and character of a look in the moment and regularly illustrates live at London Fashion Week.

An understanding of drape and texture merges with a strong love of drawing to create Louise’s vibrant and dynamic fashion illustrations. She enjoys traditional approaches in her work but likes to push the possibilities of mark-making, media, and technique. This often includes areas of tactile and visual interest using approaches such as stitch, papercutting and monoprinting,

Louise also avidly keeps sketchbooks and loves drawing on location, observing varied landscapes and the figure within various environments

A FIDA, AOI and VAI member, Louise has exhibited nationally and internationally and has been featured in a number of press publications with her work. She currently teaches at Ballyfermot College of Further Education, Dublin.
